Tazewell County is located in southwestern Virginia and borders West Virginia. It is part of the Bluefield WV-VA micropolitan statistical area, which has a population of more than 107,000.

The Tazewell County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is tasked to aggressively pursuing opportunities that enhance the quality of life for citizens of the county. To accomplish this mission, Tazewell County has a diversified existing industry base that includes companies such as Pyott-Boone Electronics, Jennmar Corporation, Tadano Mantis Cranes, Blue Wolf Cleaners and Pemco Corporation, as well as many others. The county’s outstanding, skilled workforce and business-friendly atmosphere provide an excellent location for business expansion and an ideal lure for new high tech businesses that can tap into our skilled and very trainable workforce as well as our outstanding regional educational system to attract our talented youth. 

Tourism and cultural heritage also play an integral role in Tazewell County’s economy, and the county offers diverse cultural, recreational and other tourism activities, including the Historic Crab Orchard Museum , the Tazewell County Old Time and Bluegrass Fiddlers’ Convention, beautiful Burke’s Garden and the Appalachian Trail, just to name a few.
